the Arnold Sports Festival

We are flying back from the Arnold show and it has given us fresh energy for the Beast of the East. We are determined to grow our event with CrossFit style competition as it’s centerpiece. Watching all the other fantastic athletes in various other sports has been amazing as well.

Before I get started though let me say congratulations to David Charbonneau . He place second in the Beast of the East Last year and is currently in 3rd place in the Northeast. David Callahan is in 7th, Chris Guerrero is in 9th and Daniel Tyminski is in 11th. All of these top athletes competed in the 2011 BOE and either did very well or won their respective divisions last year. Nice work so far gentlemen.

We are excited about some new developments already put into place. Most notably adding a 3rd day of competition, a new rig to make sure we get plenty of gymnastics mixed into our wod selection and the new Masters Beast divisions.

We also plan on increasing the prize pools for out top athletes. We will keep the amount secret so that as more sponsors come on board we are able to up the prizes without promising a set amount from the start. In addition to this we are also planning on giving a cash prize to each male/female winner for each wod. So if you dominate one particular wod but don’t end up 1st, 2nd or 3rd you can still win some cash for laying it all on the line.

We have added many new specialty competitions for the 2012 Beast of the East. There will be a lot of stuff for spectators to watch and also for non Beast competitors to try as well. If you’re feeling frisky then check in with the specialty comp operators and sign up that day to compete.

Last but certainly not least remember that we have partnered with the Garage Games for 2012 and is listed as a “major” event for any of you in the east who hope to win the Garage Games series.

Remember, even though our attention is rightly focused on the CrossFit Open right now our registration is open as well. A lot of these athletes will be registering or are already registered to compete in the Beast. Don’t be the guys or gals who missed signing up when you had the chance. I get those emails all the time. It’s no fun being locked out because of procrastination.

Simply click the register button at the top of the page…select the competition you wish to compete in and reserve your place now.

Good luck to all the athletes currently competing in the CrossFit Open.
